01/6It’s time to give unfollow the eat less, move more rule

“Eat less, move move”. If you are one of those trying to shed kilos for some time now, you must be familiar with this popular approach to losing weight. That simply means that to lose weight you should consume fewer calories and engage in more physical activity to burn the stored fat. All those who have tried this approach would know how badly it misfires. In the beginning, everything goes well and you even seem to shed kilos, later due to consuming fewer calories, you would start to feel hungry all the time, leading to overeating, irritability, mood swings and weakness.

02/6It is time to switch your approach

Eat less, move more approach might seem logical. Honestly, it is more dangerous for your health and weight management in the long term. Cutting down calorie intake isn’t a sustainable way to lose weight. You may initially see positive results and shed some kilos. But you might gain the lost weight even more quickly. So, if your motive is to maintain weight after losing it, you need to let go of this ancient approach and adopt some sustainable way to lose weight. It may take time for you to shed kilos, but it will be worth it. Here are 4 diet rules that you should follow.

03/6Cut down unnecessary carbs

Just like other nutrients, carbs are also essential for our body. Our system needs it to produce energy and bulk the stool. Cutting down too much carb may leave you constipated and low on energy. Now there are two types of crabs, healthy and unhealthy ones. When trying to lose weight include healthy sources of carbs in your diet like vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Unhealthy carbs like refined flour and starchy foods like potatoes should be avoided.

04/6Take a sufficient amount of protein

Eating a sufficient amount of protein when trying to shed kilos, helps to keep you fuller for a longer time. Protein consumption is not only essential for those trying to build muscles, it is equally crucial for those trying to lose weight. Protein also speeds up the fat-burning process by increasing the resting metabolic rate. High-quality protein intake can help in cell and new cell regeneration.

05/6Eat healthy fat

The greatest misconception most people trying to shed kilos have is that eating fat will make them fat. In fact, eating healthy fats and low carb will force the body to go into a fat-burning state. Your body will burn the stored fat to produce energy to carry out the daily function and you will eventually get lean. Healthy sources of fat also improve your cardiovascular function and help to manage blood pressure.

06/6Pay attention to your schedule

In terms of weight loss, when you eat is as important as what you eat. Eating on time is a necessary lifestyle change that one must make to stay healthy and maintain the lost weight. Eating untimely makes you eat more than usual, forcing the body to store extra fat. It can also lead to indigestion and bloating.
