01/6These tricks can help you lose weight

Time and again we have been reminded that the secret to weight loss is eating less and moving more. It is true in every sense and there is no alternative to it. But there some are clever weight loss tricks that can score you bonus points in this long journey.

We all know that everything around us including our mental health and sleeping habits can contribute to fat gain. Similarly making some small tweaks in your daily habits can speed up your weight loss process. These tricks are backed by science and are quite effective.

02/6Chewing gum before a meal

According to the researchers of the University of Rhode Island, chewing gum before mealtime can help you consume fewer calories. They found that chewing gum for one hour in the morning made people feel less hungry and they ate 67 fewer calories at lunch. Choosing the peppermint flavour gum can help you more because the fresh minty flavour is known to curb hunger.

03/6Grab a bigger glass of water

Staying hydrated is essential for everyone, including people trying to shed kilos. Water curbs your hunger and even prevents you from emotional eating. Even dehydration can at times be confused with hunger. So, drink a glass of water every hour. Moreover, try to drink water from a glass, rather than just sipping from the bottle. While drinking from a bottle we do not exactly know how much fluid we are consuming. Keep a big glass on your table along with your bottle and drink a glass of water after a regular interval.

04/6Do online shopping

Online shopping is the best to ensure that your kitchen is stocked with healthy snacks. That’s because when buying things online, people are more likely to buy only the food they need. They do not scroll over the entire section, which is common when buying groceries from the supermarket. You will not only save some money but will also stick to your diet plan.

05/6Listen to music when working out

There is a reason why most people tune into their favourite music while exercising- it helps them stay motivated and move faster. According to a study on the Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology, fast-paced, motivational music can help to move faster and can motivate you to keep going. Eventually, you will work out for a longer time and will burn more calories.

06/6Have soup or salad as an appetizer

Another easy trick to consume fewer calories is to have broth-based soup or a bowl of salad before your meal. Both soup and salad are healthy and having them right the meal can reduce the total calorie intake by up to 20 per cent. Even eating a red apple can help to lower your overall calorie intake.
