What’s behind Sirtfood?

Nutritional trends such as the Paleo diet, Shred diet or Low Fat 30 are outdated, now it’s called Sirtfood! The Sirtfood diet, similar to its predecessor, the Low Carb diet, focuses mainly on proteins. To be precise, a certain protein called sirtuin. So, in order to lose weight, you just have to follow certain foods that contain this protein. Sounds too good to be true. But what is sirtuin anyway?

Sirtuin – what is that?

Sirtuin is a specific protein that helps build muscle and burn fat. It strengthens our immune system, also protects against diseases and inflammations in the body and ensures that cell metabolism decreases. This means that the aging process is slowed down and you stay “young” longer.

Sirtfood diet: How does it work?

Sirtfood developers Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten promise Within a week, you can lose up to three kilos with this diet. How does it work?

About the intake of foods rich in sirtuins and a reduced calorie intake. Specifically: In the first week you should consume 1000 calories per day, in the second week about 1500 per day. Anyone who exercises beyond that will naturally lose even more. So if you follow the sirtfood diet, you don’t just have to pay attention to how much you eat, but what you eat.

  • Garlic

  • green tea
  • Celery

  • Dark chocolate (with a cocoa content of at least 85 percent)

Can I lose weight healthily with the Sirtfood diet?

The success of the Sirtfood diet has not yet been scientifically proven. Anyone who follows the Sirtfood diet for a while must urgently make a permanent change to their diet, otherwise the yoyo effect will set in. In the first week very few calories are consumed, other programmes work with a much higher calorie intake – and still allow us to lose weight.
