Sirtfood diet: Diet plan behind Adele’s weight loss transformation
- October 03, 2021
Adele has turned heads in the last year after revealing her body transformation which saw the singer reportedly losing seven stone in weight. It is thought that the songwriter followed the Sirtfood diet, a plan which focuses on eating nutritious food and juices.
Dark chocolate and red wine is also allowed in moderation as well as apples being encouraged.
The diet is divided into two phases with the initial phase lasting one week, which requires slimmers to restrict calories to just 1,000 a day for three days.
Sirtfood green juices are encouraged on diet during the first phase where followers must consume three a day as well as one meal.
Typical sirtfood juices include kale, celery, rocket, parsley, green tea and lemon.

From days four to seven, calorie intake is increased to 1,500 consisting of two sirtfood green juices and two sirtfood-rich meals each day.
Once the diet is completed, slimmers are encouraged to continue eating sirtfoods and the diet’s signature green juice.
Adele most recently showed off her new look back in July when she posted a photo of herself in an England shirt to celebrate the Euro 2020 Final.
The post, which gained more than 20,000 comments from fans, showed Adele in tight black leggings.
It added: “Eating only 1,000 calories is typically not recommend without supervision of a physician. Even eating 1,500 calories per day is excessively restricted for many people.
“Not to mention, because the diet is so limited in calories and food choice, it is more than likely deficient in protein, vitamins and minerals.”
As well as eating a balanced diet, exercise is also extremely important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
According to Camila Goodis, a personal trainer who worked with Adele, the singer would take part in Pilates.
Reformer Pilates focuses on core strength and proper muscle engagement which helps to improve performance.
The personal trainer added that Adele’s results came “90 percent from diet”.
This is because exercising has no direct effect on weight loss, but it can help to provide the body with a larger calorie deficit.
