In January 2020, Adele’s incredible transformation came to light while she was holidaying in the Caribbean with Harry Styles and James Corden.

She had already given fans a glimpse of her slimmed-down physique in October 2019 when she posted Instagram snaps at Drake’s birthday party with the caption: “I used to cry but now I sweat.”

The Rolling in the Deep singer is believed to have shed seven stone over the course of two years. She first addressed the impressive weight loss on Saturday Night Live in October 2020.

She said: “I know I look really, really different since you last saw me. But actually, because of all the Covid restrictions… I had to travel light and I could only bring half of me, and this is the half I chose.”

How did Adele lose seven stone?

Adele is reported to have started her weight loss journey several years ago using a range of methods to transform her physique.

She is said to have begun her journey with reformer pilates which she did with close friend Ayda Field. The acclaimed singer also completed three workouts each day with her exercise regimes involving weights, hiking, boxing and cardio. According to The Sun, Adele also followed Joe Wicks’ high-intensity workout tutorials as well as “secretly working with personal trainers.”

Interestingly, Adele is also thought to have cut out sugar from her diet. She previously admitted that she used to drink around ten cups of tea every day each with two sugars in. In 2015, she said: “Now I don’t drink it and I have more energy than ever.”

Inside the Sirtfood Diet

UK based nutritionists, Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten launched the diet programme, the Sirtfood Diet in 2016.

Essentially, individuals following the diet have to rely on staples that are high in sirtuins which are a subset of plant-based proteins that can be found in various foods and in the body naturally.

For the first three days, dieters are expected to consume merely 1,000 calories each day that consists of a single meal and two green juices. While calorie intake can increase to 1,500 calories later in the week for four days mostly divided between two meals.

Foods permitted on the diet plan include kale, strawberries, onions, walnuts, matcha green tea and olive oil. Other foods such as dark chocolate and red wine can also be consumed in moderation.
